Chinese New Year 2012 begins on 23rd January and ends on 9th February 2013.
This year is the Water Dragon. I was born a Water Dragon!
"Water Dragons are able to see things from other points of view. They don’t have the need to always be right. Their decisions, if well-researched, are usually better since they allow other’s to become involved."
Here are a few things I discovered about the Dragon in Chinese astrology:
"The dragon is the only animal of the Chinese zodiac year that is not real. It is quite special and very much revered and was seen as a powerful almighty king because it was made up of different parts of animals such as a tiger, fish, snake and an eagle."
"They certainly are not shy – they demand attention and respect."
"They are free spirited creatures who believe that rules and regulations are for other people. Naturally confident and very fearless, they are usually very successful."
So what does 2012 hold for a person born in the Chinese Year of the Dragon?
"Such people will double their efforts in whatever they do - work, education and other projects. Their natural talent and abilities should stand out with great results."
Let's welcome the Year of the Dragon with open hearts, open minds and open arms.
I know I will!!
Namaste
"I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?"
~~ John Lennon
On my daily walk I spotted this dragon or wyvern on a roof.....cool eh!! - August 2011.

Welcome to the year of the Dragon Peggy, wishing you good things!
Oh hi 'dragonPeg'... wowzah, 2012 must sure bring you fortune and fame when I read this! Oh dear, did I thank you for your submission for FEATURING yet? There's something in the back of my mind that says I forgot... if so, then here: THANK YOU!!!
Since I got married in 1982, every year has been the Year of the Dragon for me...
Yes Peggy - it's your year! I think you will start seeing dragons all over the place now you are looking...
Cool quote from Lennon! I'm the same - faeries, little green men (well, maybe not green), other dimensions, time travel, angels, ghosts...
I'm hoping some of the dragon luck will rub off on all of us this year!
You are certainly free spirited, confident and hard working, so yippee it's your year. Hope it is going to be a great one
I was born in the year of the goat/sheep. They are said to be: "creative, artistic, passionate, elegant, warmhearted, honest, charming but pessimistic, timid, disorganized and vulnerable."
Supposedly not compatible with a dragon. What do they know?
It pleases me somehow to know you were born in the year of the Dragon. "Of course you are" is what I'm thinking.
Love the Lennon quote. Little Miss is very into what is real or not and that helps me somewhat.
So this is your year, My Friend! And those tidbits about dragons seems to fit you so well!
Puff, an all time fave folk tune of mine...I wandered here from QMM's blog...so Gung Hoy Fat Choy in preparation...I suppose it will be an ok year for me, a Monkey year born. Water is said to nourish earth!
Like CF, the first thing I thought was, "Of course you are a dragon Peggy!" I am a fire dragon and I am very excited for the year to come. I've always liked that the dragon was the one sign that is mystical or not real. Wishing big things for you in this year of the dragon! Love Jen xoxoxo
