Courage is doing what is right for you when no-one else thinks it is!!
So step outside your comfort zone, give it a try.....don't wonder "what if?"
Sometimes suffering brings us the freedom and confidence to make bold choices about how we want to live the rest of our lives.
Believe in the power of your spirit.
Difficult journeys can offer us the chance to learn that we are loved and cared about.
I count myself fortunate to have had this chance to know so clearly and so strongly.
"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."

Wholeheartedly agree, Peggy. Twenty years ago I gave up my job (without having another one to go to) sold my house and headed to Edinburgh for a new life. People said I was mad - especially as my youngest child was just three months old. But sometimes you've got to do what you think is best instead of having to conform to others.
Hope you have a great weekend!
very inspiring words that we all need from time to time Peggy, thank you
As you know Peggy, I'm always inadvertently stepping out of my comfort zone. My gift/curse (I've just realised) is to 'think big'. I always do it - and look where it leads me...!
You're right about the suffering bringing freedom. Sometimes it is a turning point that enables us to shatter old patterns and get out of a rut. None of us likes suffering - but it is a part of life. The buddha was always trying to tell us this.
This makes me think of occasions when its easier to do nothing - so nothing will change. Rather than challenge yourself (believe and follow your spirit), even if the outcome is not quite as your hoped, you still have learnt something on the journey of experience.
Im such a wuss...I wish I had courage.
I am scared of everything. Although, if you mess with my peeps I show no mercy. Does that count?
Rising every time we fall - resilience! So far, I've managed to do so. I've been trying to help my daughter see that she already does this and not to agonize so much.
Thanks for this post.
Yes, great quote.
Such wise words! I especially love your first sentence, "Courage is doing what is right for you when no-one else thinks it is!!" I can relate to this a lot with my parenting choices as well. My family seemed to question all my parenting decisions but I knew they were right for my family. Now, they are coming around as they see the great results! I think everytime that I follow what I know in my spirit to be true that it is becomes easier to make those courageous decisions. Thanks for your inspiring words!
I love this post! I was out with my MIL yesterday, and saw a sign (no, a real one too) that said that (and I'm paraphrasing) that it isn't the challenge that makes us rise or fall, but merely shows us who we are. Be well!!! xo
