Enjoying the Journey

It is amazing by changing the use of a word, we can change our thought patterns.

When I thought of the word "goal" I thought of the word "should" and that lead me to rebelling against achieving my project/task.

By changing the word to "choice", I felt freer and less stressed. I found it to be a much more powerful motivator and the pressure subsided.

Consequently there is no timeframe when I "choose" to do the project, resulting in a pleasurable experience as opposed to the pressure of achieving a "goal".

Once again it comes back to enjoying the journey rather than focusing on a specific destination.

So I choose to be open minded and curious and accept my shortcomings, just as I welcome the rainbow.

I also choose to accept and love myself unconditionally and to love, nourish and take care of my body.

Today I choose to embrace the silver lining of my imperfections and as always am thankful for the abundant blessings I have in my life.

"Each of us literally chooses, by his way of attending to things, what sort of universe he shall appear to himself to inhabit."
~~ William James

This is Seal Cove in the South Island of New Zealand, we came across these chairs when we were trekking and chose to stay a while before continuing on trekking.

Hello dear friend Christine, who always stops by and leaves a comment no matter how long I am away from blogging!

When we focus on choice we can enjoy the present moment and improve ourselves at the same time.

Take care always.

Great thoughts. I have a Post-It note on the mirror in my closet that says "Got to or get to", reminding me to choose the positive.

Hi Kathy
It is always a good reminder to have notes/signs to prompt us into action. I put positive quotes on my fridge door.
All the best

Indeed! After so many years of working under pressure to get things done, I'm now all about making choices each and every day that are just right for me. :) Always nice to hear from you.

Hi Tammy
There are certainly lots of pluses that go with ageing.....the number one being choices. I am so pleased to hear you are making the right choices for yourself.
Take care always.

Very wise of you!

That trek looks hilly so those chairs would be very welcomed. I would settle for a comfortable rock in the shade. Words - we need them for so many things.

Thanks for stopping by during your break Debra, hope you are enjoying the summer and look forward to reading more of your posts in August. xxxx

Hey Bill
It was quite a hilly trek for four days along the Banks Peninsula in the South Island of New Zealand. Beautiful scenery and well worth the effort.
Oh yes words are more powerful than we can imagine, so it is important to choose them wisely.
Keep shining my friend

oh what a fun to see you pop up everywhere again. Great post as that is one of the big things I am learning at the moment as well that thoughts and words are all powerful and have feelings attached to it. More awareness creates the ability to change things. Self care and compassion is also important which will enable us to better care for others as well. Looks we are on the same journey Marja xxx

Hi Marja
It's always lovely to read a comment from you my friend. You are correct in saying more awareness creates the ability to change things.

I find when my intentions are positive and when I search only for the good, then my life transforms into this amazing adventure.

I am so enjoying travelling this journey with you Marja.

Namaste
