POSSIBLE OR LIMITED

I'm thinking about two especially frightening mental places to find yourself in life.

The one where you think everything is LIMITED.

And the one where you realise that everything is POSSIBLE.

Everything and Nothing!

There is truth in the statement that everything is limited.

There is also truth in the statement that everything is possible.

And there is the truth of the CONTINUUM.

Part of accessing possibility is the ability to ask, “What else is true here?”

"Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn't."
~~ Mark Twain (American Humorist, Writer and Lecturer. 1835-1910)

Visited a school in Laguna in the Philippines in October 2015 and captured these beautiful kids.

Some deep thinking here. I enjoy philosophical ideas. Many are strange but can offer a different view. Good Mark Twain quote that I don't recall seeing before.
Another truth - children are beautiful all over the world.
Could it be that innocent we adults see in the kids that appeals to us?

so everything and nothing are connected!

Interesting!! I think it also depends on what you belief If you think that everything is limited it will be and if you think everything is possible, it will be. Truth is therefore subjective. Unless it is a general truth like water boils at 100 degrees. Nice quote from Mark Twain. I have to think about that one first. Arohanui xx

@Bill - Thanks for adding to the conversation mate. I absolutely agree that children are beautiful all over the world and also I am sure their innocence certainly does appeal to adults. Children seldom think of the future and can therefore enjoy themselves. The day we fret a about the future is the day we leave out childhood behind!

@Debra - It is a great quote isn't it, makes you think.

@Christine - I actually hadn't thought about EVERYTHING AND NOTHING being connected - a paradox eh!
The Divine Paradox: “I Am Nothing, Yet I Am Everything”

@Marja - Our belief system certainly steers our direction to which road we travel through life - glass half full, glass half empty. I know you and I travelling along the same path, which makes it a great joy being your friend.

I really liked this blog. It is exactly what has been going through my mind lately. I have been having a mental battle where some people around me see only the negative, while I choose to see the positive. There is a favorite quote of mine from the Disney movie, Alice Through the Looking Glass. "It is not impossible, if you think it possible."

Thanks for the thoughts!

@Jen - Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your very thoughtful comment. I find it very difficult being around negative people especially if I know them very well.
I am glad you choose to see the positive, it has helped me the most in terms of becoming the person I want to be.
Take care and keep shining.

I always love Mark Twain quotes, but I hadn't seen this one before. Thank you :)

Thanks, Peggy, as always for sharing your insight. People are stymied by having too many choices as well as (feeling like) they have none. I also believe we have to work to children's possibilities not their probabilities. I have been gently turning my mom's negative statements into positive ones. When she reports the latest violence in her home city, I remind her that in that same city there are thousands of acts of love and peace and just normalcy but those do not get elevated. She says, "they don't care." I counter, "but we do, you do, and a lot of them do." The other day, she corrected herself. Maybe I'm having a little influence. I always sort for the good and I'm so happy that I see the good. Be well on the other side of the word.

Blimey - I don't think I understand that quote by Mark Twain!

The truth is we ae both limited and limitless at the same time! We are limited by our perception - the idea that time is linear, for one.
