Continuing the Tradition - My 2015 One Little Word is.......CONNECTING

Every year since 2009 I have picked a WORD for the New Year—as a sort of beacon to guide me through the coming 12 months. This word will help me focus on what I am looking to be, do, feel and stand for in the next 12 months.

For me, 2015 will be a year about CONNECTING.

Connecting more deeply with myself, my inner truth, my authentic self, others, community, love, passion, my own heart and soul.

Connecting even more with the feeling that not only is being good enough, it’s the only person I can be anyhow. Feeling like I need to be more like others just leaves me feeling like I'm not being who I NEED to be to fulfil my purpose.

Connecting with that deep part of me that can help me let go of some of those unrealistic expectations and external standards that don’t equal success for me.

I feel excited to see where my journey with this Word "Connecting" takes me.

How about you my fellow bloggers.  Do you have a Word for 2015?

My One Little Word from previous years were:
2009 - BALANCE
2010 - SEEK
2011 - SHARING
2012 - PERSEVERANCE
2013 - SURRENDER

2014 - DETERMINATION

“Giving connects two people, the giver and the receiver, and this connection gives birth to a new sense of belonging.”

Hello my dear friend Christine, who even though I go walk-about for 6 months, sees my new post.
Love you, you sweet soul.

I am sure my word connecting will take to some wonderful places and meet some interesting people.

Big hugs

I've never thought about a new word for every new year but I have always thought balance was essential for traveling through life. I posted about balance once but would need to dig around to find it.
Connecting fits in very well with seek and sharing. I like what you wrote about "unrealistic expectations and external standards".
Does this mean that you'll be connecting within blogland more now?
I look forward to reading more connected posts and comments.

Hi Bill
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, you are a treasure.
I would like to connect with my blog friends again in 2015. You all have been a very important part of my growth so I have every intention of connecting again next year.
Thanks for the encouragement my friend.

Glad you went for the verb - the active form. I think you will find lots of connections in 2015.
Maybe reviving old connections and making new ones.

Connecting has another layer - connecting the dots, putting together the bits and pieces that help us understand the bigger picture. After all we are ALL connected.

Do you remember that six degrees of separation thing? Probably less in NZ and Australia even.

Hope you are enjoying the party season!

Hi Celia
As always thanks for leaving an interesting comment.
"Connecting the dots...to help us understand the bigger picture". I will keep that in mind as I travel with my word in 2015.
Take care dear friend.

Oh how wonderful to have a word
and such an important one I think
when you connect with our inner self you discover indeed that you are already whole and that all is there what you need.
I started last year to collect symbols My symbol in 2014 was a butterfly and for 2015 it is...key
so my word would be opening
I love that photo with the "I have a dream'

Hi Marja
Connecting with our inner self is so important and I'll be using meditation as a tool.

I love your idea of collecting symbols each year. Butterflies represent transformation so you would have had a very interesting year.
And the symbol KEY for 2015 will open many doors I am sure.

I treasure the little key you gave me recently with the word dreams engraved.
Keep shining dear friend

Great word Peggy. And while it has many broader meanings I love the fact you are focussed on connecting with the most important person, you. You have come along way and you are an inspiration to all of us. May 2015 bring you much joy and happiness. Who knows what is around the corner for us. I do not have one word for this year but maybe the word, FORWARD, is where I am up to. Pushing forward and not looking behind. I cannot believe how different I feel these days to the many years prior. Sometimes that dark tunnel is long. Instead of thinking about the wasted years I just want to keep looking forward and towards that light. I really deserve it, lol.

Hey Lilly
Love your word FORWARD. It also has several meanings. As well as pushing forward towards that light, you could Be more Forward.
I remember when I was younger, I would never speak up because I was afraid of someone ridiculing my opinion or feelings. Now I have definitely become more outspoken about how I feel thanks to therapy and ageing.

One thing for sure Lilly you definitely do deserve all the joy and happiness that life can offer and those dark years weren't wasted years, they were learning years.
