Signs

Des over at Des in Real Life posted this short film about communication by Australian director Patrick Hughes

I love the concept and with it's great execution and excellent music, I think it is outstanding and well worth watching for 12 minutes.

Grab a cup/glass of your favourite drink and enjoy the ride.

“The more elaborate our means of communication, the less we communicate.”
Joseph Priestley English Chemist and Clergyman, 1733-1804)

That was so great, Peggy! I guess when things are meant to be, they will be. And we ought to seize the day...never know what tomorrow brings!

Isn't Des great! I love his blog. Somehow I missed this one so thanks for posting it. I think I need a window in my office...LOL

Hugs and Love to You, Peggy :)

Christine - Glad you enjoyed the video, I thought is was a very clever silent film.

My header is a photo I took yesterday at "Sculpture by the Sea", an event held annually in Sydney. It was created by Terry Stringer, a New Zealand artist and is made of bronze and called "Face fingers folds".

This is what he wrote about his work:

"Made up of three drawings in black bronze. Each image is seen in turn against the sky as the viewer investigates the work"

Kelly - You are spot on with your analysis of this video. We definitely never know what tomorrow will bring and if we put a smile on our face and stop looking down who knows what our eyes will chance upon.

My home office has a window overlooking a park. I guess that is another why I spend so much time on the computer as I am always looking out the window as people walk by with their dogs or play with their children or sit and read a book....etc etc.
They also often stop at my gate and if my cats are sitting in my garden try and coax them over for a pat.

I am only new to Des's blog and thanks to YOU I have found another very interesting blogger.

Thanks also for the love and hugs Kelly and I send them back to you ten fold. :)

Happy Organist - I loved reading your running commentary, it made me laugh out loud.
I never thought about him being hit by a bus but if they stand there much longer they are in mortal danger!

Feel free to comment as much as you like HO because you always make me smile and I love smiling! :)

Love ya too mate.

Annie - This quote about happy endings speaks volumes!

"The happy ending is our national belief.”
Mary McCarthy (American novelist and critic,1912-1989)

I think we are raised to believe in happy endings. We, as it were, are programmed from an early age to believe that happiness is somewhere else, in someone or something or some place.
We are never let in on the secret that it dwells within us...no, we have to find that out the hard way, through all the trials and tribulations of life. And then when we just can't take one more dissappointment from life then we re-evaluate everything and wonder why for so long this happiness has been eluding us in spite of our greatest efforts. It is only then that it begins to make sense. :)

That was so ROMANTIC!!!!! I loved it! I had tears in my eyes at the end.

At the beginning I thought 'I've been in jobs like those' Where you feel like you are on another planet and your days are all the same. I have so been there.

Then he meets his soulmate - and his life is changed. Isn't that the beauty of love? Isn't that the beauty of taking time to have fun and make someone smile - you can change their day - and change the world! (At that point it doesn't matter that she is his soulmate - she is a friend and he really needed one).

Then he almost loses her cos he hesitates! But I knew she would find a way to contact him - she's his soulmate after all.

LOVED it!

Peggy,

Thank you so much for mentioning me in this post, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed this. It's difficult to find quality short films, so when someone executes a great short like this it is fantastic. Again, thank you so much for the mention and I hope you have a great weekend.
